It isn't just words that tell a compelling story, photographs too can convey a narrative. In fact, there is no language more universal than photography. A photograph brings together several visual elements to weave a story in the manner you want it to be told. A photo essay isn't just a random collection of photos but a carefully conceived set of images that capture the mood and soul of the subject. It requires pre-planning and careful execution. As a photographer, you should be able to approach subjects in the field and convince them to be a part of your story. And once they agree, be able to capture them in their natural environment and settings with the help of resources available to you. The workshop begins by familiarising you with the different controls of your camera and introduces you to time-tested composition techniques that ensure a good photograph. This is one workshop where the writer, director and photographer in you can take charge and display your creative best. Whether you are a wedding photographer wanting to capture the account of the most important day of somebody's life, a journalist wanting to illustrate a written story in a more dynamic form, a film-maker wanting to understand the nuances of images telling a story or even a student wanting to present a project in a different way; this workshop takes you through the necessary steps of visual story-telling. You will learn about the three part structure of a story, how to caption or add audio to your pictures to make them meaningful and how to prepare documentary style visual stories which are currently taking the internet world by storm. With the help of this workshop, get ready to offer the world all the untold stories you think deserve to be told. |

" It was an excellent class. The best part was that the instructor showed us that a good picture is more important than the technical aspects of the camera. I had a great time. "
V. Christopher
